போதைப் பொருட்களுக்கு பதிலாக பாலாடையைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கும் மோப்ப நாய்கள்
போதைப் பொருட்களை நுகர்ந்து கண்டுபிடிக்க வேண்டிய மோப்ப நாய்கள் விமானப் பயணிகளிடமிருந்து பாலாடைக்கட்டி மற்றும் பன்றிக்கறி சாசேஜ்களை மட்டுமே கண்டுபிடிக்கின்றன என்பதை ஒரு அறிக்கை கண்டறிந்துள்ளது.
வடக்கு இங்கிலாந்திலுள்ள மான்செஸ்ட்டர் விமான நிலையத்தில் சட்டவிரோத போதைப் பொருட்களை கண்டறிய ஆறு உயர்ரக நாய்கள் உள்ளன.
அவற்றை பராமரித்து இயக்க இரண்டு மில்லியன் டாலர்கள் செலவாகின்றன.
அந்த நாய்கள் சட்டவிரோத போதைப் பொருட்கள், புகையிலை, பணம், காட்டு விலங்குகளின் இறைச்சி ஆகியவற்றை நுகர்ந்து கண்டுபிடிக்க பயிற்சியளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
ஆனால் ஏழு மாத காலம் கண்காணித்து நடத்தப்பட்ட ஒரு ஆய்வில், அந்த ஆறு நாய்களும் ஹெராயின் மற்றும் கொக்கைன் போன்ற போதைப் பொருட்களை கண்டறிவதில் தோல்வியடைந்துவிட்டன என்பது தெரியவந்துள்ளது.
மோப்ப நாய்கள் எவ்வாறு பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன என்பதை மீளாய்வு செய்ய வேண்டும் எனவும் அந்த அறிக்கை கோரியுள்ளது.
இந்த ஆய்வு பிரிட்டனின் எல்லைக்கட்டுப்பாடு மற்றும் குடியேற்றத்துக்கு பொறுப்பான தலைமை அதிகாரியால் சுயாதீன முறையில் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டது.
